About Me

I'm Owen Poteat, The One-Man-Boogie-Band. I am a professional, full time Blues and Americana artist from the mountains of North Carolina. I'm honored you've stopped by to learn a little more about me and my music. My award-winning one-man show is lively, energetic, entertaining and memorable. If you're having a party, a wedding, a wedding reception, corporate event or any other private party or need music for a festival or other public venue I hope you'll consider hiring me for your music.

More about me: Music plays such a big part in making me who I am and who I will be. While no one should say music is their life, because I feel life is bigger than that which we do, I can say that my music takes up most of my working days and nights; it provides me with fulfillment, challenges and success. It's like a child that I've watched grow from infancy some 35 years ago to something that is now original and unlike anyone else. The music in me is something I'm proud of, something I nourish and continue to work on, trying to continually improve my skills as an entertainer and musician. My music has allowed me to open for major groups, play on big stages that I once would have only dreamed of playing. It's allowed me to perform on TV and radio and intimate small parties and events. It's allowed me to win accolades from Gigmasters as their #1 Singer, #1 Blues Artist and #1 One-Man-Band. And as the 2010 winner of the PBPS Blues Challenge I was honored to represent the North Carolina area in the International Blues Challenge in Memphis in February. As the winner of the Blue Ridge Blues Society's IBC Band Challenge I'm thrilled to be going back to Memphis again in 2012 for the 2nd year in a row.
